Meet the Winemaker - Michael Wenzel

Carters of Moseley are delighted to have Michael Wenzel here with us for the evening of May 9th to showcase his fantastic wines. Michael will be around to explain his approach to winemaking and talk to you about how wine culture has evolved over the past 4 centuries.
This is a unique opportunity to have one-on-one experience with a world renowned master of wine.
A little about Michael...
The Wenzel family have been producing wine since 1647 in the world famous town of Rust, Austria & hold 11 hectares of vines in some of the finest sites of the region. He focuses on the Furmint grape variety & highlighting the true expression of terrior in his wine. Michael is widely considered to be a pioneer of natural wines across the globe & is dedicated to organic farming practices, with minimal intervention.
How the evening will work
Chef Brad Carter will still be offering his seasonal menu...where the night differs is Michael's wines will be showcased in a way you've never seen before. A flight of 7 wines separated into the following categories throughout the evening:
- Natural Winemaking & Low Sulphur Management
- Indigenous Grape Varieties
- “Taste the Soil!"
- Botrytis & Sweet Wine
