We're pretty Wired
12 October 2017
The Carters style is to always step back & look at the bigger picture & the humble after meal coffee is no different.
If you've been here over the past year you've probably noticed the team getting all kinds of mad scientist, carefully brewing your coffee by hand at the table. So we got to thinking, If you're as geeky about coffee as we are...you might wonder what else makes our coffee so unique?
It's about a sense of place ... not just something for coffee snobs. We only serve coffee from single estates, sometimes single fields. Bringing you premium coffee roasts with individual flavour profiles. This little fruit has become international currency & we're all about giving it back to the farmers & their families that make it happen.
The Story Behind the Beans...
This month we've been brewing some small batch, washed Catura & Catuai Arabica beans from the Canet community in the Los Santos Terrazú region of Costa Rica. Renowned as some of the best coffee in the world for more than 50 years, the fruit is grown at 1,700-1,800 metres above sea level and produces a distinctive brew with toffee, caramel, berries & plum with a crisp apple acidity.
The Story Behind the Roasting...
The next stage of the journey is the roasting. The beans arrive at AllPress in London where the raw green beans are roasted with care & attention. Their priority is flavour & they hot air-roast their beans to guarantee they never break this promise. AllPress are the only coffee company known to use these exclusive roasters, which elevate natural sweetness & achieve the ultimate smooth taste.
Michael AllPress (founder of AllPress) says their roaster is such a sexy bit of kit, they even call it "The Beyoncé"!
Not only do AllPress produce beautiful coffee, they work closely alongside the growers; building a community from plant to bean to cup. They have a strong philosophy of fair-trade & helping the environment.
